What is CLOUD computing?

In recent times, i have seen many discussions about a hot topic, it is the ClOUD computing. What is cloud computing and why is that called as cloud.

I guess that CLOUD computing is similar to the Grid computing or mobile computing. Is that right? what is cloud computing?

Cloud computing is a term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the Internet.

It is where the term which used in internet for delivering the hosted services with specified architecture.

Cloud computing refers to the use and access of multiple server-based computational resources via a digital network (WAN, Internet connection using the World Wide Web, etc.). Cloud users may access the server resources using a computer, netbook, pad computer, smart phone, or other device.

The accessing a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server so it is simple and secure.

Cloud computing is a model that deliver information resource throughout the network.
This services divided into mainly three categories:

1. Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)
2. Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
3. Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
