What Are Short Term and Long Term Effects of Alcohol Abuse
Drinking alcohol excessively for a long period of time has a lot of risks to your health. The amount of alcohol you drink at a sitting and the extent of overall times you do this will determine the amount of damage done to your body.
If you are not a heavy drinker and only drink 1-2 drinks a sitting a couple of times a week, you would not be considered an alcoholic If your drinking becomes more and more each time and more often, and you continue this habit over a long period of time, you will eventually become addicted to alcohol. You increase your body tolerance each time you have a drink. 1. Your family life begins to crumble. 2. You become depressed. 3. Your anxiety will increasingly become worse. 4. You will be unable to sleep as well as you did before. 5. You start to lose your self esteem. 6. Your friends avoid you. 7. You have problems at work. |

Re: What Are Short Term and Long Term Effects of Alcohol Abuse
1.Alcohol can damage every organ in your body. It is absorbed directly into your bloodstream and can increase your risk for a variety of life-threatening diseases, including cancer.
2.Alcohol depresses your central nervous system, lowers your inhibitions, and impairs your judgement. Drinking can lead to risky behaviors, such as driving when you shouldn’t. |

Re: What Are Short Term and Long Term Effects of Alcohol Abuse
Greetings!
Alcohol consumption mainly impacts vision. It causes blurring of vision, and in the case of excessive drinking one may not be able to see at all. Alcohol also messes up one's sleeping patterns. While alcohol does induce early sleep; it is not sleep of a good and beneficial quality. In fact alcohol induced sleep does not really relax your mind and body the way that normal sleep does, and in fact leads to fatigue and irritability. Excessive alcohol consumption can severely damage one's kidneys. Kidneys regulate bodily fluids and the supply of minerals to the body. Any disruption in this function will lead to drastic reduction in energy levels. ___________ lasik surgery |

Re: What Are Short Term and Long Term Effects of Alcohol Abuse
Alcohol and drug use can not only impair your ability to function now, it can have long-range negative effects on your health and well-being. Heavy alcohol use can affect nearly every organ system and every aspect of a persons life. Alcohol abuse effects are numerous and alcohol abuse effects are deadly. Alcohol abuse effects range from legal troubles to cirrhosis of the liver. Alcohol abuse effects also can be put into two categories- short term and long term. There are alcohol abuse effects that can clear up in the first year or two of sobriety. Some times alcohol abuse effects will never clear up. When use of alcohol becomes abuse of alcohol a few things occur.
